So much has happened over the last few years, where travel has not been possible and in many ways we are still adapting to how things have changed. In March earlier this year, our GCF Community, along with teams from GOPlay, family.fit and Generous Generation met in São Paulo, Brazil with the major focus being Families in Mission. Several project work teams were launched, and work on the projects continues post-Brazil gathering. We are excited to see what the outcomes will be as we continue to strive towards our goal of equipping 100 million missional families!
As we meet in November in Addis, the work on Families on Mission will continue to focus on seeking God’s guidance on how to equip missional families in an African context. There has been growing momentum around the needs of families and how we can best serve them alongside children. As we look at the needs around us in our world, specifically in Africa and as we come together as Kingdom partners, could we even begin to imagine how we could see God open the way to equip 100 million missional families?
We have a vision for children everywhere walking with Jesus. Join us for a precious few days to pray, explore, learn and create together as we build on the meetings we held in Brazil in the context of the following areas:
- Leadership
- Release young leaders to pioneer the season ahead
- Connect mentors and mentees, widening the leadership development
- Develop multiplication strategies for the Leadership Experience
- Learning Community Regional Pilots
- Connect and accelerate regional learning communities in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Europe
- Integrate the Leadership Experience as a GCF DNA multiplication strategy
- Innovation
- Build hybrid FlashLab teams to innovate around key projects (family.fit, Leadership Experience, Family, Regions, Academia)
The meetings in Addis will include representatives from theological institutions, church leaders, ministry leaders, local practitioners and young leaders. GCF gatherings are innovative, insightful and a great community of fellowship as a family.
If you are new to GCF please be assured that we are a welcoming community! We prioritise a warm and friendly atmosphere, ensuring that newcomers feel at ease. If you're joining us for the first time, we're excited to help you navigate through our time together, support you in making new friends, and familiarise yourself with the different aspects of the groups and projects.
